Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the scoping and screening of potential impact sources for HCV assessment and the stepwise screening to use the available information for proper reference scaling towards site level assessment
  • Lead the implementation of the biodiversity conservation project on HCV key species concept
  • Conceptualize the logical framework for HCVA Management Plan as basis for species and landscape conservation
  • Manage the validation of HCV through stakeholders’ consultation and planning workshops
  • Interpret assessment findings in recognizing significant values in the decision-making process of the quality of the results
  • Recommend management strategies for the comprehensive management plan of project/s in precaution to the severity of threats that are reasonable indicators for HCV
  • Supervise in the preparation of HCV technical report
  • Keep and update of activities and related information and database holdings in coordination with and support by CCIPH’s information resource persons
  • Supervise the technical team during the survey and ensure good team relations during the implementation of the project with the aim to implement the objectives of the project and build cohesion
  • Whenever needed, the position should provide inputs and assistance on various projects with the approval of the project Team Leader


  • Hold a degree in biology or equivalent. Postgraduate degree (Master/PhD) is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge on biodiversity conservation, specifically on the HCV concept
  • Extensive knowledge on species management and conservation area management
  • Knowledge on national policies and regulations in environmental management that are significant in developing conservation management plan
  • Knowledge on current computer programs and softwares to facilitate data analysis such as R, QGIS, Program PRESENCE, Program DISTANCE, and Maximum Entropy Algorithm that will be used as basis for developing management plans and conservation frameworks
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Tagalog and English
  • Experience on community organizing and facilitating planning workshops
